The Best Skiing Destinations In The Northwest

There are numerous skiing areas in the northwest, but some stand out more than others making them the best. Mt. Spokane, Mt. Hood, Mt. Bachelor and Crystal Mountain are a few of the destinations that stand out.

Mt. Spokane offers skiing for people with varying different skill levels. You do not have to be an expert to go to Mt. Spokane. Mt. Spokane offers beginner hills all the way up to challenging trails and hills. The slopes at Mt. Spokane are open until late February for winter skiing. There is also a lodge where you can get food and drink. Considering you are very close to Spokane there are a lot of choices of places to stay.

Mt. Hood is 45 minutes from Portland. Mt. Hood Meadows, is the favorite skiing area at Mt. Hood. There are options for skiers of all skill levels. The Timberline Lodge plays host to the mountain lodge where “The Shining” was filmed.

Mt. Bachelor is very close to Bend Oregon. It offers excellent high desert snow. The seasons are long and it is a favorite of skiers and snowboarders that are in the area. Mt. Bachelor offers skiing lessons and rentals. The area is great for a novice skier. It attracts many visitors also. There is something for everyone at Mt. Bachelor. There is a lodge, restaurants, nearby shopping, spas and hotels. So even if you don’t ski there is something for you to do.

Crystal Mountain, is 76 miles southeast of Seattle. There is a base lodge that accommodates 700 people. Stevens Pass is on the crest of the Cascade Range, it is the recipient of an amazing amount of snow. It plays host to ski runs for every level of skier. It is not considered a luxurious resort, but the quality of the snow makes up for that. There is a lodge for the visitor to stay in. So if you are in the mood for skiing. Just head for the northwest, where you can find a number of ski resorts that will fit your need.
